Core Component Developer C++ / ARM - (m/f/d)

At our Siemens R&D Center we are focused on product development including software development, hardware development, mechanical design, and testing for the next generation concept of Industry 4.0.

We would like to invite you to cooperate on the development of industrial automation products within established, stable, and successful development project „ET 200 IO´s“. Within this project, we have initiated the development of internal, universally reusable software components.

Your task will be:

• Programming new functionalities in C and/or C++ for embedded devices (C++11/14 for ARM Architecture)
• Intensive use of AI agents to speed up development, writing routine algorithms and refactoring
• Creating functional / unit tests and participating in the code review process
• Proactivity in topics, good self-organization and sharing of know-how
• Cooperation in writing requirements
• Product documentation

What we will appreciate from you:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in electronics, computer engineering or a related field
• Good experience with the C and/or C++ programming language with regard to low-level performance and memory
• Active experience with AI development tools (Copilot)
• Experience with writing firmware or development for real-time embedded systems
• Experience with the development of embedded and real-time operating systems
• Experience with using HW debugging tools
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, MODBUS/TCP, Ethernet/IP) is an advantage
• Knowledge of tools such as git, docker, CI/CD
• Good spoken and written English
