Strategic Project Manager

We are looking for a Strategic Project Manager to join our Strategy & Business Development team at our HQ in Radonice. In this role, you will drive high‑impact initiatives that evolve our promotion‑intensive business model and strengthen the core operations of PENNY Czech Republic. This is not ticket management — it is real business transformation.

Responsibilities:

You will act as the link between strategic planning and operational execution, focusing on efficiency, availability, and process excellence.

• Lead Strategic Initiatives: Own and drive complex, cross‑functional projects. Examples include: – Optimizing supply chain processes (e.g., Fruit & Veg) – Improving forecasting and allocation logic to ensure POS availability – Further developing our promotion‑driven business model – Driving enhancements to our core business and evaluating ideas beyond it
• Orchestrate the Organization: You don’t just create plans — you align people. You coordinate cross‑functional teams and steer Department Heads (Sales, Logistics, Purchasing) toward shared goals, even without disciplinary authority.
• Drive Operational Excellence: Identify bottlenecks, analyze root causes, and develop pragmatic, data‑driven solutions that increase efficiency and profitability.
• Executive Decision Support: Prepare high‑level decision papers and presentations for Top Management / Country Managers. Translate complex data into clear, actionable management summaries.
• Portfolio Management: Monitor national project progress and ensure timelines, budgets, and scope are met using structured project management methodologies.

Requirements:

We are not looking for an Agile Coach — we are looking for a structured thinker with a hands‑on mentality and strong project management skills.

• Food Retail DNA: Experience in grocery retail is highly desirable. You understand the fast‑paced dynamics of a discounter and speak the language of the business.
• Experience: 3–5 years in Project Management, (In‑house) Consulting, or Strategy roles.
• Analytical Mindset: You are comfortable working with data, building business cases, and using Excel. You use PowerPoint to visualize results and tell compelling stories.
• Personality: You have a strong backbone — confident enough to challenge senior stakeholders, yet diplomatic enough to secure buy‑in. You are self‑driven, independent, and pragmatic.
• Methodology: You are organized, structured, and able to bring clarity and order into complex environments using proven PM methods.
• Languages: Fluency in Czech and English is essential. German is an advantage.
