Firmware Developer (C++ / ARM) (m/f/d)

At our Siemens R&D Center we are focused on product development including software development, hardware development, mechanical design, and testing for the next generation concept of Industry 4.0.

We would like to invite you to cooperate on the development of industrial automation products within established, stable, and successful development project PROFINET communication gateway. Within this project, we focus on inter-connection of industrial communication standards, high system availability and real-time performance.

Your task will be:

• programming new functionalities in C and/or C++ for embedded devices (C++11/14 for ARM Architecture)
• effective use of AI-assisted development tools and agents to accelerate software development, support routine implementation tasks, and improve code quality through refactoring
• creating functional / unit tests and participating in the code review process
• proactivity in topics, good self-organization and sharing of know-how
• cooperation in writing requirements
• product documentation

You can look forward to:

• up to 33 days of holiday (standard 5 weeks + up to 8 additional days from the benefit system)
• signing bonus up to 100,000 CZK (depending on the level of technical knowledge)

What we will appreciate from you:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in electronics, computer engineering or a related field
• good experience with the C and/or C++ programming language with regard to low-level performance and memory
• active experience with AI development tools (Copilot)
• experience with writing firmware or development for real-time embedded systems
• experience with the serial communication standards (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN)
• experience with using HW debugging tools
• knowledge of industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, MODBUS/TCP, Ethernet/IP) is an advantage
• knowledge of tools such as git, docker, CI/CD
• knowledge of spoken and written English
