Design Engineer - Structures

We are looking for Design Engineer - Structures to join our team at Bobcat.

As a Design Engineer focused on structures, you will be responsible for designing and developing key structural components of our products, such as frames, booms, and counterweights. You will work closely with Application Engineers and cross-functional teams, contributing to both new product development and continuous improvement of existing machines.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Designing structural components (frame, boom, counterweight, and related parts) using 3D and 2D CAD tools
• Creating accurate engineering drawings, applying GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Performing basic structural calculations to validate design concepts
• Supporting prototype development and ensuring manufacturability of designs
• Collaborating with Simulation / FEA teams by providing input data and reviewing analysis results
• Maintaining and updating load charts in line with design changes and machine kinematics
• Working on both new product development and improvements of existing machines
• Communicating with internal teams across multiple locations
• Supporting daily engineering activities and solving technical issues related to design or production

What sets you apart:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in steel-based structural component design (mobile machinery)
• Background in structural design (steel / mechanical structures)
• Basic knowledge of mechanical calculations and engineering principles
• Experience with CAD tools (Creo preferred)
• Understanding of GD&T principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
