Senior Sw Engineer & AI Architect

About the role

We're looking for a senior engineer who can own both the backend of a growing fintech platform and its AI layer. You'll design and build systems that are reliable, secure, and ready to scale — while also shaping how we integrate AI agents and smart automation into our products.

This is a hands-on role with real architectural impact. You'll work across backend services, API design, data pipelines, and AI-powered tooling — collaborating closely with product and engineering teams from our Prague office.

What you will be doing

• Design, develop and maintain backend systems and APIs (PHP / Symfony, Node.js / TypeScript)
• Architect and implement AI-powered features and agentic workflows
• Build and extend internal SDKs, frameworks and integration tooling
• Handle database design, migrations and performance optimisation (SQL, ElasticSearch)
• Own CI/CD pipelines, Docker environments and deployment infrastructure
• Write clean, testable code — unit, integration and application-level tests
• Parse, transform and migrate data across systems
• Conduct code reviews and mentor mid-level engineers

Who we are looking for

• 5+ years of backend development experience, ideally across multiple tech stacks
• Strong PHP skills (Symfony or similar framework); TypeScript / Node.js a big plus
• Hands-on experience with AI integration, LLMs or agentic systems
• Solid SQL knowledge; experience with ElasticSearch or other search/data engines
• Comfortable with Docker, CI/CD pipelines and Linux server environments
• High standards for code quality — clean architecture, conventions, testability
• Experience in fintech, regulated environments or complex domain modelling is a plus
• Communicates well in Czech and English

Nice to have

• Experience building or extending custom internal frameworks
• Familiarity with Vagrant, Ansible or similar infrastructure tooling
• Background in e-commerce or ERP/information system development
• Experience training or mentoring colleagues (including senior engineers)
