About the Project

Be part of an exciting journey to build the AI Enablement Platform based on Model Context Protocol (MCP) — a foundational capability enabling secure and scalable interaction between AI models and enterprise systems.

This platform extends DHL’s existing API ecosystem by:

• Leveraging Google Apigee as the gateway for AI governance, security, and traffic management
• Running MCP services on Google Cloud Platform and Apigee
• Enabling secure, reusable AI services across multiple business domains
• Applying advanced security controls such as Model Armor and API policies

You will help shape how AI is consumed across DHL, ensuring consistency, security, and scalability.

Your role as Lead Solutions Architect – AI Platform:

• Own the end-to-end architecture of the MCP AI platform, covering backend services (TypeScript/Node.js/Express.js), frontend applications (React/Vite), and cloud infrastructure (GKE)
• Lead AI-to-system integration design, incl. context delivery, tool invocation, and secure access to enterprise data
• Govern the API ecosystem via Apigee, incl. security policies, traffic management, and lifecycle
• Define and enforce standards for security (OAuth2/JWT, zero-trust), DevOps (CI/CD, observability), and microservices architecture
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentorship, and hands-on guidance

Ready to embark on the journey? Here’s what we are looking for:

• Solid experience in software engineering, including 5+ years in architecture or tech leadership roles
• Proven experience designing high-load, distributed enterprise systems
• Hands-on expertise: TypeScript · Node.js · Express.js · React · Vite
• Strong GCP experience, including GKE and container orchestration
• Deep Apigee experience: API proxy design, governance, and security policies
• Solid understanding of MCP or similar AI integration patterns, LLM interaction models, and AI orchestration
• Ability to define frontend architecture for AI-driven web applications

We welcome

• LLM frameworks (e.g. LangChain, Semantic Kernel, OpenAI APIs)
• Platform engineering / internal developer platforms
• Understanding of AI governance, responsible AI, or AI security
• MCP solutions development experience
