Finance Director

We are looking for an experienced successor to our Finance Director, who will have overall responsibility for the finance function at PPL Czech. The role acts as a strategic business partner to the Managing Director and senior management, supporting business growth through financial insight, decision support, and risk assessment. An important aspect of the role is also vision, ownership and the ability to motivate others to continuously move the business forward in support of the company’s overall strategy.

Main responsibilities are:

• Lead the overall finance function and contribute to company strategy as a senior management member, shaping the company vision and strategy.
• Proactively support business grow for PPL CZ and drive business focus and growth mindset for the finance function.
• Team leadership & development - leading the Finance & Controlling team, including recruitment, development, motivation, and performance management.
• Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting - ownership of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and medium-term financial planning in line with company and group strategy.
• Financial control, compliance and risk management - ensuring compliance with legal requirements and group policies.
• Financial analysis, reporting and performance management - delivering timely and transparent financial reporting, business reviews, and actionable insights to management to support performance improvement.
• Business and cost controlling / profitability management - driving financial and operational performance, cost management, and profitability analysis.
• Project controlling, investments and commercial support - evaluating investments and business projects to maximize returns while minimizing risk.
• Accounting, cash flow and ESG reporting - oversight of accounting activities, management of cash flow and working capital, and establishment of accurate ESG reporting to support decision-making and group requirements.

Requirements:

• Finance – related university degree (Economics, Business Administration or equivalent qualification, or professional certification (CPA, etc.)
• Czech language is a must + fluent English
• 10+ years’ experience in financial management role, including at least 5 years managerial role in a large organisation.
• Strong background in Finance/ Controlling and Accounting
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills - building, developing and motivating larger teams
• Expertise in change management, especially in ERP implementation
• Strong business acumen and business growth mindset, customer orientation
• Advanced BI Analytics management experience.
