CEE Bankwatch Network is Hiring a Ukraine Reconstruction Campaigner

📍 Location: Central and eastern Europe (preferably Slovakia, Poland or Czechia)
🕒 Full-time | 1-year contract (with possible extension)

Are you interested in shaping Ukraine’s reconstruction and ensuring the country’s public interests are represented?

As a Ukraine Reconstruction Campaigner, you will focus on monitoring implementation of the European funds in Ukraine Facility, advancing Bankwatch’s strategies and sectoral campaigns, and engaging with Ukrainian and EU decision makers as well as international financial institutions. You’ll work as a member of an international team in close cooperation with our member groups and partner organisations.

Your key tasks 

• Track, collect and share information about projects financed by international financial institutions (such as the EIB, EBRD and World Bank) across energy, transport, municipal services and waste management.
• Help our partners build capacity and coordinate joint advocacy activities outside Ukraine (with international financial institutions, EU bodies and Member States).
• Support Ukrainian civil society organisations and communities in identifying reconstruction priorities on the ground and advocating for their needs with EU and international financial institutions.
• Monitor implementation of the Ukraine Facility, focusing on challenges encountered, stakeholder feedback and lessons for future initiatives.  
• Coordinate campaign activities with Bankwatch member groups and partners. 
• Research good and bad environmental and social practices within reconstruction investments. 
• Produce public and media outreach materials. 
• Represent Bankwatch in-person at international events and meetings.

✅ What we’re looking for

• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience, preferably related to Ukraine.
• Experience with advocacy and campaigning in environmental activism; knowledge of topics related to climate, environment, energy, Ukraine’s reconstruction, bottom-up decision-making and public participation is an advantage
• Excellent research, writing and communication skills 
• Strong team player 
• Motivation to promote Bankwatch’s Ukraine campaign and mission 
• Willingness to travel
• Fluency in English and Ukrainian required; other languages spoken in central and eastern Europe considered a plus
