JUNIOR PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR (full time or part time)
Role Overview
The new administrator will be a key member of the administrative team of the Center for Inequality and Open Society (CIOS) at the Faculty of Law, Charles University. The role is varied and challenging, offering excellent opportunities to learn from senior colleagues and gain valuable experience in research administration, grant management, proposal writing, and international project exposure. Key responsibilities include:
Seminar and Event Coordination:
- Coordinating the research seminar, specifically handling communication with invited speakers.
- Arranging travel logistics (flights, accommodation), meeting speakers at the faculty, and processing reimbursements and billing.
- Organizing the yearly project research workshop.
International Relations & Communication:
- Serving as the international contact person for team members and the CIOS International Scientific Advisory Board.
- Performing language editing and reviewing new research grant proposals.
Administrative & Reporting Support:
- Providing support to the Project Manager, especially with reporting, timesheets, and various administrative errands.
- Taking meeting notes and managing the project folder.
- Co-writing (with the PI) and editing the yearly report.
Project Documentation & Website:
- Maintaining and updating the project website, and its further development.
Professional Development:
- Over time, the person will gain exposure and training opportunities with the goal to become an independent project administrator for standard research grants, including those from the Czech Science Foundation, Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, and potentially international schemes like Horizon Europe, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), and European Research Council (ERC).
Candidate Profile
- Experience: This is a junior position, no extensive prior experience is required.
- Language Proficiency: Excellent Czech and English skills (both spoken and written), particularly writing, are essential.
- Attitude: Resilience to stress, decisiveness, solution orientation, and particularly willingness to learn and curiosity.
- Availability: Ability to start immediately or in the near future.
Candidate Advantages
- Advanced IT skills, demonstrable organizational, negotiation, and presentation skills are an advantage.
- International experience or experience from multinational companies or institutions.
- Experience in research institutions, whether in a research or administrative position.
- Experience with projects funded by EU structural funds.
