Internal Logistics Engineer

For one of our clients, a leading international manufacturer in the heavy-duty industrial and automotive sector, we are looking for an Internal Logistics Engineer to support the design, optimization, and continuous improvement of internal material flow and production logistics processes.

Working closely with Production, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, and Supply Chain teams, you will contribute to ensuring an efficient, reliable, and Lean internal logistics operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize Milk Run transport loops for logistics tow-trains, ensuring efficient component delivery from warehouses or logistics supermarkets to production workstations.
• Perform transport capacity and resource calculations, determining the required number of tugger trains, trailers, carts, and logistics operators (FTEs) according to production plans, takt time, and material demand.
• Develop and maintain standardized transport schedules, defining fixed departure frequencies while considering loading, driving, unloading, and empty packaging return times.
• Optimize material delivery processes through sequencing, kitting, line replenishment, and e-Kanban systems to ensure continuous production supply.
• Monitor logistics KPIs (including Milk Run On-Time Delivery), identify bottlenecks, analyze material flow performance, and implement Lean continuous improvement actions to eliminate waste.
• Support the design and optimization of internal logistics layouts, including supermarket areas, tow-train loading zones, and safe traffic routes within the production facility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new logistics concepts and support production ramp-up and industrialization projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in internal logistics, production logistics, material flow engineering, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Milk Run operations, line feeding, and warehouse-to-line logistics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with logistics planning or simulation tools is an advantage.
• Ability to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
• Professional proficiency in English.
