About the Project & Team
You will join the administrative heart of the Center for Inequality and Open Society, a major interdisciplinary initiative with a budget of 150 mil. CZK. The project spans three partner universities, six research groups, and a team of around 70 researchers and staff.
We are looking for an ambitious junior colleague to support the Principal Investigator and the Project Manager. This is a unique opportunity to "learn the ropes" of research administration in a high-profile international academic environment.
What You Will Do
This role is designed to grow with you. Initially, you will handle logistics and support, with a clear path toward becoming an independent research support and grant administrator.
- Event Coordination: Assist with organization of weekly research seminars and other events, particularly manage travel logistics for international guest speakers.
- Project Documentation: Maintain the project website and keep the shared project folders organized, meeting minutes, co-write and edit CIOS yearly report alongside the PI.
- Communication: Serve as the primary contact for international team members, guest speakers, and the International Scientific Advisory Board.
- Administrative Research Support: Assist with timesheets, administrative errands.
- Hiring & HR Support: Provide administrative support for international academic hiring processes.
- Professional Growth: Over time, we will train you to independently manage standard research grants (Czech Science Foundation, Technology Agency of the Czech Republic) and eventually international schemes like Horizon Europe and ERC. You will be involved in, and gain experience with, grant proposal writing, with the aim to become a research project consultant able to improve the quality of proposals and help faculty and researchers succeed in acquisition of competitive external funding.
Who We Are Looking For

- Language: Excellent English writing skills (C2/C1) are essential for communication, editing, reporting. A good working command of Czech is required for local administration.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a decisive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Ambition: You are eager to learn, resilient, and ready to kick-start your career in research management.
- Nice-to-haves (but not strict requirements): International education or work experience. Experience with EU funds , grant proposals, or university administration is a plus, but not strictly required. Advanced IT skills.
