Laboratory Assistant – Organic Chemistry

We are looking for a student or recent graduate in chemistry with initial experience in a semi-industrial or academic laboratory, ideally in the field of organic chemistry.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Hands-on experience with handling large volumes (10 L and above) and familiarity with reactors and rotary evaporators (rotovaps), particularly of 20, 50, or 100 L capacity. Solid understanding of common solvents used in organic chemistry and the associated safety protocols. Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Proficiency in using gas masks and personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to work independently with precision, responsiveness, and a strong team spirit. Dynamic, proactive, and committed to the smooth operation of the laboratory. Bonus: Experience using pallet trucks; CACES license or equivalent is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor rotary evaporators ranging from 20 to 100 L. Provide daily support to chemists with tasks such as solution preparation, equipment setup, and material transfers. Perform cleaning, routine maintenance, and first-level troubleshooting of lab equipment and instruments. Assist with basic logistics, including solvent inventory, weighing, waste collection, and cleaning. Contribute to compliance with QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) procedures.

Working Conditions:

Frequent use of gas masks and work in ventilated environments is required. Full-time, on-site position. Shift work may occasionally be required depending on workload.

Fluency in English is mandatory (spoken and written), as it will be the working language.
