Contracts Counsel / Contracts Specialist

Contracts Counsel/ Contracts Specialist will be based in either our Prague or Bratislava office and will provide sales-related Contract Services to all business units in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Greece and other countries of Central and South Europe as well as occasionally support sales Contracts requests in Italy, DACH and other regions of Europe. Daily work will be in local and English languages, with minimal level of supervision.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards, with minimal supervision

• Responding, within established guidelines, to customers’ RFP/RFQs, vendor qualification documents and contractual requests

• Aligning with customers, using appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the parties

• Taking the Contracts Lead role on more complex projects and frame agreements as experience develops

• Working with customers, members of the legal team and other Emerson partners to bring deals to closure

• Analyzing business, financial, and legal risks

• Researching information on existing agreements and contractual programs, assisting with analysis and compiling data for reports

• Providing contract-related guidance to Sales, Project Management and other partners

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

• 2-4 years of work experience in a contracts-related role

• Intermediate MS Office skills

• Excellent oral and written Czech or Slovak and English language skills; other languages are an advantage

• Excellent negotiation skills

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Extensive knowledge of Contract law & principles

• Commercial provisions such as warranty, liquidated damages/penalties, payment & freight terms, documentary credits and bank guarantees/sureties

• Experience in a complex Matrix organization

• Additional language skills

• Completion of IACCM Contract and Commercial Management (CCM) Training Program to Practitioner Level
