Algorithmic Trader /Analyst

Algo Trading is a running project of CEZ Trading. It aims at creating an innovative hub inside our current structure of Commodity Trading. We believe there is a massive potential in combining deep fundamental knowledge of the current trading floor with systematic approach and quantitative technology. The team should integrate expertise across data science, machine learning and trading and this role is a unique opportunity to play key role in this dynamic project.

Job description:

• A trader/analyst with focus on designing, building, testing and refining algorithmic strategies across European energy markets
• Architecting well-designed and robust algorithmic components and data infrastructure to enable agile prototyping and back-testing of trading strategies
• Cross-commodity trading on European markets based on quantitative approaches
• Cooperation with traders and market/quantitative analysts on the identification of trading opportunities

Requirements:

• University education with the focus on mathematics, or with the technical focus
• Strong aspiration on the application of the quantitative methods in practice
• Prior experience with statistics, data mining, mathematical modeling and/or optimization techniques advantageous
• Knowledge of programming in any procedural language (C, Java, Python, etc.)
• Novelty seeking mindset
• An ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams and functions
• Experience as a commodity trader/analyst is an advantage
