Project Context and Scope
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Czechia is launching a project aimed at supporting former Ukrainian defenders and their families residing in Czechia. In response to the complex psychosocial and mental health needs of individuals exposed to combat experiences, the project seeks to establish a sustainable and functional national and regional support and care mechanism. This mechanism will be designed to address the psychological and social consequences of war-related trauma, with a particular focus on referral pathways in regions and support of mental health conditions.
The project is grounded in the principles of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and aligns with international standards and best practices in trauma-informed care.
It aims to strengthen the capacity of local service providers, improve access to relevant services, and ensure effective referral pathways for individuals in need of specialized support.
