About the role

Piping design and analysis of an assigned scope of work in a MDR project. Work includes, among other things, design calculations and specification development. Under supervision is able to communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers.

REQUIREMENTS

High School or University. Preferably technical school training. Accredited engineering degree as may be required by specific regions.
Typically has the 0 - 3 years of experience.
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to report in English (verbal, writing)
Accurate to details

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Is responsible to become fully knowledgeable of all relevant work processes, systems and tools, to apply them on the projects, and to provide input for improvement when applicable.
• Specifies materials for piping components in accordance with process and project requirements. Supplies relevant disciplines with preliminary information.
• Writes and handles piping requisitions in accordance with project requirements.
• Ensures a Piping Material Take-Off Planning Form is prepared and approved prior to the MTO activities on a project, and an MTO Close-Out Report upon completion of the bulk MTO.
• Is responsible for piping material take-off and quantity control activities including checking and reporting
• Provides Pipe stress calculations of critical systems, cooperates with Plant design on necessary modifications
• Communicates with Civil/Structural department on Pipe supporting structures
• Defines the discipline scope of work and the required resources and develops input for the Piping Execution Plan.
• All activities he performs under control of seniority engineer.
