Amazon Make-On-Demand (MOD) is a division of Amazon which covers both Print-On-Demand (POD) and Tee-Shirt-On-Demand (TOD) activities. It is a manufacturing fulfilment which enables the production of physical books or Tee-shirts ‘on-demand’ within hours of customer order, providing an inventory free, Fast Track (Prime badging) supply. In 2021 Print-On-Demand represented more than 28MM ASINs overall (and more than 10% of books shipped in the marketplaces we operate) while Tee-shirt-On-Demand represented 7.5 Mn units. Both Print-On-Demand and Tee-Shirt-On-Demand are expansive and our presence is growing.
At Make-On-Demand we create value for Amazon: our job is to innovate for customers. We work backwards from the customer, taking subjectivity out of our evaluations, and make sure that our products cannot be distinguished from traditionally manufactured ones.
